The Palmetto City Ballet (PCB) will close out its 10th Anniversary Season with a Classical vs. Contemporary Double Bill. You can see “Midsummer Night’s Dream” / “Why Our Walls” at the Sottile Theatre on March 15th at 1 pm or 7 pm and on March 16th at 3 pm.
Here's what Jonathan Tabbert, PCB's Artistic Director had to say about the performance in a press release:
"We take great pride in marking a decade of dance as we celebrate our 24-25 performance season.
Our Classical vs Contemporary double bill program closes out our 10th anniversary season highlighting the astounding versatility of our company artists. We open with a story of magic, mischief, and romance with the world premiere of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' Shakespeare's classic tale, accompanied by an enchanting musical score, will sweep you away to a whimsical realm of fairies, lovers, and mystical forests. Our talented cast will captivate your heart as they portray the intricate web of love and laughter, guided by the mischievous Puck and the regal Oberon and Titania.
Our program concludes with the dynamic and athletic 'Why Our Walls.' In this piece, three soloist dancers bravely face their personal and societal challenges, striving to overcome them. With impactful spoken word segments by Marcus Amaker, Charleston's former poet laureate, and the invigorating Grieg String Quartet in G Minor, this performance will undoubtedly leave you craving more."
