Ohm Radio 96.3 FM and The Whale, 1640 Meeting St., Charleston, will host an evening of live expression, connection and creativity during Open Mic Night, hosted by Charleston’s Luvie Smith of @theycallmeluvproductions.
The event will take place Tuesday, April 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Whale and will create space for poets, musicians, storytellers and community members to share their voices or simply listen.
Smith — a producer, radio host and emcee — will guide the evening, bringing her signature energy to the mic and making space for both seasoned performers and first-timers.
While the evening welcomes all forms of expression, it coincides with National Poetry Month, offering an added nod to the power of words and the voices behind them.
The event is free and open to the public, with no advance registration required.
In addition, throughout April, The Whale is supporting Ohm Radio as its nonprofit beneficiary through round-up donations. Ohm Radio 96.3 FM is Charleston’s community-powered, commercial-free radio station, broadcasting locally produced programming 24/7 that amplifies the voices, music and culture of the Lowcountry.
