Footlight Players's presents Last of the Red Hot Lovers, the Neil Simon comedy of mid-life crisis that proves escapades, romance and satisfaction may be best found at home. The beloved and hilarious Tony Award nominated play makes its Queen Street Playhouse debut March 7th.
Meet Barney Cashman, a congenial middle aged married man living in the age of the sexual revolution. Overworked and overweight, Barney wants to join the excitement before it's too late and arranges three seductions using his mother’s occasionally empty NYC apartment: the first, Elaine proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle of neuroses; then there’s Bobbi, a 20-ish actress who's too kooky by half; and finally Jeanette, a gloomy, depressed housewife who happens to be married to Barney's best friend.
Each of his failed attempts at seduction lead to hilarious results as Barney discovers he may not actually be the Last of the Red Hot Lovers. From the legendary vault of Neil Simon (Plaza Suite, The Odd Couple, Rumors) this hit comedy is a guaranteed laugh-out-loud romantic romp.
