Meyer Vogl Gallery is pleased to announce Nectar Collector, a solo exhibition by Melanie Parke, opening in March 2026.
Nectar Collector marks Parke’s second solo exhibition with Meyer Vogl Gallery and presents a new body of work exploring a variety of beings and plant life that thrive and cohabitate. Lush and layered, Parke’s paintings draw from landscape, interior, and still-life studies, weaving them together into compositions that feel both intimate and expansive.
“Nectar Collector is a nod to the fragility, the beauty, and the brevity of other species,” Parke said. “Lepidoptera — butterflies and moths — move about the world seeking nectar and light. They inspire me, the way they live, the way they are part of an interconnected cohort of beings pollinating our planet.”
Parke lives and works in Arcadia, Michigan. Her paintings are known for their rich color, compositional depth, and ability to move fluidly between representational spaces. Nectar Collector continues this exploration, offering a body of work rooted in the quiet, essential relationships between natural beings.
“Today, Melanie Parke is a part of our gallery DNA,” said Katie Geer, co-owner and director of Meyer Vogl Gallery. “Most of the collectors we work with know and admire her work.”
“To acknowledge her importance to the gallery is wildly wonderful — when we first opened 10 years ago, she was one of those ‘reach’ artists I dreamed of working with. I’ll never forget receiving an email response from Melanie in 2019 after I invited her to be part of a group show. She said yes, and I squealed and danced and pinched myself.”
The opening celebration for Nectar Collector will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, during the Charleston Gallery Association’s First Friday Artwalk from 5 to 8 p.m. Parke will be in attendance. The exhibition will be on view through March 26, 2026.
