The NAACP Goose Creek Branch, in partnership with the City of Goose Creek Recreation Department and Cultural Arts Commission, invites the community to attend the “Our Freedom. Our Story.” Juneteenth Community Mural Experience on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goose Creek Graffiti Park, located at 104 Red Bank Road in Goose Creek.
This free community event will bring together residents of all ages to celebrate Juneteenth through art, culture and community engagement. Led by local artist Daniel Green, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative mural that reflects shared history, collective voices and a vision for the future.
In addition to the mural experience, attendees can enjoy face painting, treats from 4DPugh Treats, cultural performances, food trucks, a Juneteenth photo station, music and fellowship throughout the evening.
The event theme, “Our Freedom. Our Story.,” highlights the importance of preserving the legacy of Juneteenth while creating opportunities for community members to express their experiences, hopes and aspirations through public art.
“Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience and progress,” said Sharina Haynes, president of the NAACP Goose Creek Branch. “This event provides an opportunity for our community to come together, learn from our history, celebrate our culture and create something meaningful that reflects who we are and where we are going.”
