Mount Pleasant Towne Centre’s free annual tree lighting and signature holiday kickoff event, Lights Up, returns on Saturday, November 23rd. The celebration includes a laser light show, live performances and family-friendly activities, including a visit from Santa Claus.
Beginning at 6 p.m., guests can enjoy pre-lighting festivities, including a performance from the East Cooper Baptist Church Choir & Orchestra and music from Charleston-based band 40 Years Too Late.
Families can snack on bites from local favorites like Burtons Grill & Bar, Zimo’s Gyros, Holy City Popcorn, Holy City Homemade Italian Ice, Delights Desserts & Coffee, & Lobster, Taternator and Nothing Bundt Cakes while kiddos enjoy face painting from Faces by Faith, balloon animals by Carol's Balloon Art and fairy hair by The Sparkle Bar. The tree lighting will take place around 7:30 p.m.
This event supports Camp Rise Above, a local nonprofit that provides life-changing and confidence-building camp experiences to children facing serious illnesses, disabilities and challenges. During Lights Up, volunteers from Camp Rise Above will sell holiday headbands and wands to raise money for the organization.
