Charleston’s premier Celtic folk band, Moonlight Ale, has announced the release of its newest full-length album, “All We Ever Wanted.” The 10-track LP will be released Nov. 12 in streaming and CD formats, with a vinyl release to follow.
According to mandolin player George Stevens, the record has been a long time coming.
“We released our previous record in March of 2020, two days before everything shut down due to COVID,” Stevens said. “It feels like we’ve been chipping away at this one ever since.”
The band self-recorded the album across numerous sessions split between Stevens’ garage studio and various spaces throughout Charleston and beyond.
“It was a mixed approach to recording. Some tracks were pieced together over countless individual sessions, and at least one was recorded live in one take,” Stevens said.
A formal release event announcement is forthcoming. In the meantime, the band will play a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Commonhouse Aleworks on Sept. 18.
