A familiar voice to Charleston listeners and a respected member of Lowcountry media is ascending to Program Director at WMXZ-FM, Mix 95.9 as Brooke Ryan will take over as the new leader of the station. Charleston Media Solutions made the decision to promote Ryan, who steps into the role following the unexpected passing of former Program Director Mike Edwards in December 2024.
Ryan has been a cornerstone of Mix 95.9’s "Two Girls and a Guy" morning show alongside co-hosts Tanya Brown and Edwards. Her radio career began in 2001 in Bakersfield, CA and she arrived in Charleston after a stop in Knoxville, TN. Ryan also spent four years on the Mix 107.3 morning show in Washington, DC before returning to the Holy City in 2014.
“Brooke has demonstrated a true passion for the business and, combined with her incredible ability to entertain audiences, she is the perfect fit to lead Mix 95.9," said Charleston Media Solutions President Paul O’Malley.
In her new role, Ryan will lead programming strategy, oversee on-air talent and continue to elevate the station’s presence both on-air and in the community.
“The ability to program in a company like Saga who believes in live and local radio is truly an honor and I will carry on the legacy of Mike Edwards who built this station into a powerhouse,” Ryan said.
