Wire & Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival is the perfect opportunity to turn two nights of live music into a full fall getaway, with more than 35 performances across six stages in walkable Downtown Alpharetta.
The free, rain-or-shine festival returns October 9–10, inviting audiences to hear artists perform original songs and share the stories behind them. American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Spencer Thomas (formerly of Futurebirds) and J.R. Moore of Ingram Hill are notable acts joining Corey Smith, who headlines Friday night, and Sister Hazel, which closes out the festival Saturday.

A Wire & Wood Weekend Itinerary
Friday: Check in and tune in
After checking into a nearby hotel, head downtown for opening-night performances from 6–11 p.m. Catch songwriter sets across the festival stages, dine or grab drinks at Citizen Soul, Fogón and Lions or The Butcher and Bottle between performances, and browse the Music Market on the Town Green before Corey Smith’s 9 p.m. headlining set.
Saturday: Coffee, shopping and songwriters
Start the morning with coffee from Warm Waves Coffee, Valor Coffee or Boarding Pass, then browse the regionally acclaimed Alpharetta Farmers Market at City Center for local produce, baked goods, flowers and handmade goods. Nearby boutiques, including Dress Up Boutique, La Bella Maison and Mountain High Outfitters, make it easy to shop for great finds before Wire & Wood performances begin at noon.
For an even more intimate music experience, attend the festival’s only ticketed event: the 3 p.m. Listening Room at Roaring Social, featuring David Lowery, Angie Aparo and David Ryan Harris. Afterward, enjoy more music, dinner or cocktails downtown before Sister Hazel plays at 9 p.m.
