Lowcountry singer-songwriter David Perry will release his second studio album, Standing In Standing Water, on April 16, 2026.
Recorded at Truphonic Studio in Charleston, the project marks an evolution in sound and style from his 2023 album, Keep Showin’ Up. Blending Americana, country and blues, the album also explores socially conscious and human themes through elements of soul and folk.
The album features collaborations with several local artists, including Shelby Means, Aisha Kenyetta, David Sink, Joel Timmons and Demetrious Doctor. The title track was produced by two-time Grammy winner Quentin Baxter of Ranky Tanky.
“This album is a mirror,” Perry said. “It’s the stories I have carried and the thoughts that kept me up at night over the past few years.”
Tracks on Standing In Standing Water range from the personal ballad “200 Kisses” to the social anthem “Who Am I,” which includes verses in both Spanish and Ukrainian.
Standing In Standing Water will be available on all major streaming services April 16. For more information, visit dmperrymusic.com.
