Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) will host its Entrepreneurs in Culinary Arts Fundraiser with three events on Sunday, November 24, 2024 taking place from 11 am to 10 pm at Ten Mile Community Center (3926 Seafood Road, Awendaw, SC 29429). The three events to be held in one day at one location will be a 50:50 GIVING Mimosa Brunch from 11 am to 1 pm, a Foodie vs. Foodie Cook-Off from 2 pm to 5 pm, and Networking Social from 6 pm to 10 pm. Attendees will be able to learn about different aspects of the culinary arts industry and other business information throughout the day.
The 50:50 GIVING Mimosa Brunch will serve as a celebratory brunch catered by BetterEatsByB for survivors of different causes and a time to raise funds for various organizations. A $100 donation can be given on Eventbrite under the event name (Entrepreneurs in Culinary Arts Fundraiser), and $50 from each donation will go to one of the 10 featured organizations of the donor’s choice listed on the event page. It is requested that donors email ECYouth1@gmail.com to state which organization(s) they would like to donate to.
The Foodie vs. Foodie Cook-Off will be a cooking competition in which youth can enter their specialty dish to be judged by local chefs for a chance to win a cash prize. This event will feature culinary workshops and demonstrations, local chefs, entrepreneurial speakers, an It Takes A Village Information Zone, and more.
The Networking Social will include food samples, an adult grill-off competition, cigars by the Luxe Mobile Cigar Lounge, cocktails, food trucks, and music. There will be a cash prize for the winner of the grill-off. All three events will feature networking opportunities, vendors, food trucks, a photo booth, and giveaways. All attendees and cooking competition participants must register on Eventbrite under Entrepreneurs in Culinary Arts Fundraiser or at ECYouthNov10.Eventbrite.com. Supporters who cannot attend any of the three events can still donate towards EC Youth’s non-profit, the Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Program, by texting ECYouthNov10 to 33100. Sponsors, vendors, and food trucks are still being accepted.
Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) was established to expose youth ages 17 and younger to entrepreneurship. Its mission is building youth entrepreneurs and entrepreneur centers, too. Each youth is his own center. EC Youth’s ultimate goal is educating youth about financial literacy. Youth are taught the tools of entrepreneurship, which are education, volunteering, mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeships, vending, scholarships, and more, and how to use them. EC Youth hosts entrepreneurial and financial literacy events with speakers who educate attendees on starting a business, strategic planning, law, marketing, accounting, banking, money management, politics, and other business sectors. The organization also has a Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Program that allows youth participants to earn scholarships and stipends made possible through sponsors and grants for attending school, meeting with their mentors and tutors, volunteering, and working on their portfolio for planning for their future. The EC Youth theme is Education + Entrepreneurship = Dreams Come True.
