Local children’s author Julie Packett recently published her second book in The Chronicles of Ms. Clarke’s Class series. The new release, Battling Bots, picks up right where Science Night left off with Ms. Clarke wanting to keep the STEM momentum going in class 5B. Young readers can join Packett on Saturday, January 15th at Main Street Reads in Summerville for a book signing event.
This will be the first local event where Packett will have paperback and hardcover versions of both books available for purchase.
The Chronicles of Ms. Clarke’s Class is a STEM / STEAM themed series designed for children ages 8-12. In the series, the reader explores the world of science and technology through the eyes of Ms. Clarke’s fifth-grade students. Both books are available on Amazon and at Main Street Reads.
After graduating from Summerville High School, Packett continued her education journey at UNC Asheville where she got a degree in Atmospheric Science in 2006. After college, she got a job as a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Charleston. Packett transitioned out of the meteorology position in 2014 to focus on her health and family, but she still love talking about weather with children. In 2018, Packett started working on a weather-related, fictional book for kids. That story morphed into Science Night.
