Ladybird Books (299 King St.) will host an author event with Haskell Harris on Wednesday, April 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The evening will consist of Harris in conversation with several creatives featured in her book, “The House Romantic,” including artists Isabel Bornstein and Lia Burke Libaire, designers Angie Hranowsky and Kate Towill and photographer Charlotte Zacharkiw. Together, they represent a range of Charleston-based and nationally recognized voices across art, design and photography.
“The House Romantic” explores how personal spaces reflect memory, identity and connection. Blending practical guidance with rich imagery, the book features Harris’s Charleston home alongside 17 interiors from creatives across the U.S. and Europe, offering a thoughtful approach to designing meaningful, lived-in spaces.
Haskell Harris is the founding style director at Garden & Gun. Over the course of her 20-year career, she has contributed to publications including Cottage Living, House Beautiful, Southern Accents and Better Homes & Gardens. She also lectures regularly on Southern style.
