Katie’s Krops invites the community to its fourth annual Springfest on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the organization’s flagship garden, 505 Gahagan Road in Summerville, on the campus of Crossroads Community Church.
Springfest is the one day each year that Katie’s Krops opens the garden to the public, welcoming the community to explore, learn and celebrate together. The free, family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, garden exploration, interactive learning experiences, a scavenger hunt, giveaways and opportunities to connect with local organizations that support the nonprofit’s mission.
Guests can stroll the garden paths, see where thousands of pounds of fresh produce are grown and shared with the community each year, and meet partners supporting youth gardening and hunger relief efforts.
Participating community partners include Clemson Extension and the Tri-County Master Gardeners; LowCountry Animal Rescue, which will have adoptable pets on-site; Dorchester County 4-H; Chick Inn on Main, offering information on chicken care; the Summerville Police Department, which will bring the Paddy Wagon; The Charleston Museum, hosting a beeswax candle-making activity; GrowFood Carolina; the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, offering an archaeology-themed activity; and the Dorchester County Library Bookmobile.
Chef Darrel Shepard will share recipes and samples of garden-fresh dishes, and Kept Petal will host a hands-on pressed petal art activity. Additional partners include The Modern Hephaestus, Bonnie Plants and Magnolia Family Dental.
“Springfest is one of my favorite days of the year because it brings our entire community into the garden,” said Katie Stagliano, founder of Katie’s Krops. “Each year, we see more families discovering the joy of growing food and giving it away. Watching children explore the garden, meet our partners and get excited about making a difference is incredibly special. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back for another beautiful morning together.”
The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.
