On Saturday, April 26, Katie’s Krops will host its Third Annual Springfest at the non-profit's flagship garden, bringing a day of family-friendly, interactive, and educational activities to Summerville. This free event offers attendees the chance to connect with the community, learn about Katie’s Krops and its partner organizations, tour the flagship garden that produces thousands of pounds of fresh produce annually that is shared with the community, and savor delicious food—all while participating in engaging, hands-on activities. There will be crafts and even the opportunity to adopt a furry friend for your family.
Springfest will be held at Katie’s Krops Flagship Garden on the beautiful campus of Crossroads Community Church (505 Gahagan Rd, Summerville). The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is free to attend—no tickets required.
Food will be available for purchase from JMAC’s Cheesesteaks, Burgers & More, with small bites featuring garden-fresh produce prepared by the Fort Dorchester High School Culinary Program, plus sweet treats from the Summerville Police Department’s Paddy Wagon.
Springfest attendees can engage with partners including The Kept Petal, Bonnie Plants, Crossroads Community Church, ChickInn on Main, Soil3, Mace Museum of Natural History, Second Chance Thrift Shop, and Lowcountry Animal Rescue. Gardening enthusiasts can also connect with our Master Gardener for expert advice!
“Last year, we welcomed over 375 attendees to our flagship garden for Springfest, celebrating community and our love for gardening," said Katie’s Krops Founder, Katie Stagliano. "Looking ahead to our third Springfest, I can’t wait to see that number grow and to share how much our garden has blossomed! It’s going to be a wonderful morning with our amazing partner organizations, full of laughter, learning, and delicious food. This is an event you don’t want to miss!”
