For the last few months, the Julia Deckman Studio (JDS) has been hosting guest artists in an exhibition space dubbed the In Situ Salon. Each month, a different emerging artist will be exhibiting a cohesive body of work. These exhibitions are kicked off by an opening event, free for the public to attend. The summer/fall opening event schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, July 10th, 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm – “Tabletops II” a show by Ellie Caroline
- Thursday, August 12th, 5:30 pm to 8 pm – “Resurgence” a show by Cory Hyatt Hines
- Saturday, September 11th 4 pm to 7 pm – “Too Much of Everything” a show by Colleen Critcher
JDS says they hope artists will use this space “as an opportunity to experiment, lean into the ideas they find most exciting, curate these thoughts into a cohesive show, and ultimately translate them into a public exhibition.”
JDS also offers regular creative workshop programming for adults. No experience required and all materials provided. Upcoming workshops and events can be found at Juliadeckmanstudio.com/events.
