More than 40 artists, including Jonathan Green, Jill Hooper, West Fraser, Robert Lange, Reynier Llanes and Dylan Martinez, will be featured in Walk Through: A Fine Art Exhibition, a one-night immersive exhibition by CINÉ taking place on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Gibbes Museum of Art, in support of My Sister’s House.
Curated by Kacey Gustafson, founder and creative director of CINÉ Creative House, and co-produced by event planners Olivia Niemeyer and Hannah Cassibry, Walk Through will bring together more than 85 original works from an intentionally selected roster of local and nationally recognized artists. Guests will have opportunities to experience the work throughout the museum, meet participating artists and observe the real-time creation of original pieces during the exhibition and live art salon.
“Each artist brings a distinct perspective and visual language to Walk Through, but together, their work creates something larger,” said Gustafson. “The result is an exhibition that feels deeply personal while still speaking to experiences we can all connect with and understand in some way.”
The evening’s artist roster includes Rhett Thurman, Laurie Meyer, Marissa Vogl, Tim Hussey, Shannon Smith Hughes, Megan Aline, Anne Darby Parker, Larry Moore, Laura Deems, Nadia Stieglitz, Okeeba Jubalo and Mary Hoffman, in addition to Green and Hooper. The full list of artists can be found online at mysistershouse.org/post/walk-through-a-fine-art-exhibition.
In place of a traditional gallery exhibition, Walk Through will invite guests to move room by room through a narrative centered on a shared human experience—the moment when life as you know it must change—told through three chapters: Reclamation, Resilience and Renewal. A dedicated reflection space will further connect the artistic experience to the lived experiences of domestic violence survivors and the work of My Sister’s House, which has served Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties for more than 45 years.
Original artwork featured throughout Walk Through will be available for acquisition through a live auction and paddle-raise segment, with 50% of each sale supporting My Sister’s House and its life-saving services for survivors and their children.
Tickets for Walk Through are limited and now available. To purchase tickets, explore partnership opportunities or learn more, visit mysistershouse.org.
