On Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m., the Charleston Music Hall will host a 25th anniversary screening of the critically acclaimed, award-winning rock movie musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, featuring writer, director and Golden Globe-nominated star John Cameron Mitchell.
The event includes a 4K screening of the film, followed by a live Q&A and a special mini acoustic performance by Mitchell.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for a preshow costume contest for a chance to win prizes from event sponsors The Criterion Collection and The Punk Rock Museum. Guests can come dressed as their best Hedwig or in a look inspired by the work of John Cameron Mitchell.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a 2001 rock musical film based on the stage musical of the same name, follows Hedwig, a gender-nonconforming East German rock singer who tours the U.S. while telling the story of her life, relationships and pursuit of fame and identity.
Mitchell has had a career spanning film, theater, music and television, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. Highlights include a Tony Award for best revival of a musical, a special Tony Award for performance, an Obie Award and best director at the Sundance Film Festival.
He also recently starred in the hit Oh, Mary! on Broadway and was a member of the original Broadway casts of Big River, The Secret Garden and Six Degrees of Separation. Mitchell wrote and directed the film Shortbus and the young adult punk romance How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
Notable television acting roles include Girls, Yellowjackets, The Sandman and his portrayal of Joe Exotic in Joe vs. Carole. He is also the recipient of the Dorothy Hirshon Award, the Excellence in Acting Award from the Provincetown Film Festival and a Special Human Rights Award.
