On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Heart of the Home will host an evening celebrating the food, art, stories and creative spirit of Charleston at the Gibbes Museum of Art from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $95, with proceeds supporting post-production of Season One and a portion benefiting the Gibbes Museum’s Vibrant Leaders Development Program.
Guests will enjoy an exclusive preview of the upcoming “Heart of the Home” series, live culinary demonstrations from renowned chefs, food tastings and conversations exploring the intersections of food, design, hospitality, culture, history and community.
Signed artwork by Charleston artist Jonathan Green will also be available for purchase. The event will feature a silent auction with Charleston experiences, culinary offerings, artwork and other locally sourced items. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on items while supporting the completion of “Heart of the Home” Season One. All donations are tax-deductible.
Independently produced in Charleston, “Heart of the Home” explores the kitchen as the emotional center of the home, connecting food and storytelling with extraordinary homes, design, culture and the people who make Charleston unique. The series aims to bring the stories and traditions of Charleston and the Lowcountry to audiences beyond the region and around the world.
The Oct. 20 event is more than an evening of food and art — it is an opportunity for the Charleston community to invest in independent storytelling and help bring Season One across the finish line. Proceeds will support the series’ post-production, while a portion will benefit the Gibbes Museum’s Vibrant Leaders Development Program and its work supporting emerging creative leaders.
About Heart of the Home
The series celebrates Charleston by highlighting diverse voices, homes, design, local chefs, artisans and Gullah Geechee culture. Unlike traditional cooking or home renovation shows, each episode takes viewers inside a home where chefs prepare meaningful dishes while conversations explore heritage, architecture, family traditions and the communities that shape them.
