HEART Inclusive Arts Community, the unique and inclusive performing arts group, will open an all-new musical adventure at the Charleston Music Hall on Sunday, August 18th, 2024.
MonoMyth is an original musical created collaboratively by all the artists of HEART over the last year. Set in ancient Greece, in the style and tradition of Greek Theatre, MonoMyth follows a hero on a journey to recover his lost memories. With the help of some unexpected companions, he quests to fulfill his purpose - if he can only remember what that was…
HEART is a nonprofit, multidisciplinary arts studio for adults with disabilities. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, HEART has made a space where diverse individuals with disabilities can grow as artists. Together, HEART creates visual arts, music, performance events and theater productions that reflect the HEARTists’ inner lives, lived experiences, and views of the world around them.
Each year, HEART creates an all new original musical written, produced, directed, and performed by its member artists, known as “HEARTists.” Creating these original shows by and for the HEARTists allows everyone to play out the stories and characters they would like to portray and see on the stage.
MonoMyth premieres at the Charleston Music Hall on August 18th. Doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Go to www.heartsc.org/monomyth for more information.
