Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) will be hosting Spanish Storytime on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 10-10:30 a.m., at Hanahan Library, 1216 Old Murray Court, Hanahan, and is inviting Spanish-speaking children ages *birth-5 years (*Additional ages are welcome) to listen to their favorite stories in Spanish/English read by volunteers accompanied with dancing, singing and tons of fun!
Research indicates that children who are immersed in their native language, through conversations, stories, and songs, will have an easier time learning to read in their second language.
"Family Storytime series for Spanish-speaking customers and community members," said Brenda O., Spanish Storytime Reader. "Stories are read in Spanish/English. Boeing teammate volunteers to support with STEM-based readings in Spanish/English highlighting careers at Boeing, our aerospace industry, and advanced manufacturing. This event is supported in partnership with our Boeing Familia BRG."

El sistema de bibliotecas del Condado de Berkeley (BCLS) y la biblioteca de Hanahan invitan a los niños menores de 5 años* a participar de LA HORA DE CUENTO EN ESPAÑOL el sábado 14 de septiembre de 2024 de 10:00 a.m. a 10:30 a.m. en la Biblioteca de Hanahan, 1216 Old Murray Court, Hanahan. La narración de los cuentos en español, incluyendo cantos y otras actividades de entretenimiento, estará a cargo de voluntarios.
Las investigaciones realizadas indican que los niños expuestos a su lengua materna mediante la conversación, la narración y la música pueden aprender a leer más fácilmente un segundo idioma.
