How do silk, paint and canvas combine to create large-scale tapestries and floating columns? Visitors can find out in Kenny Nguyen: The Divine Eye, a contemporary art installation inspired by a Cao Dai temple in Vietnam. In Raheleh Filsoofi: At the Edge of Arrival, the multi-disciplinary artist creates paintings out of dust and pottery from soil she harvests herself, presented alongside a sound and video installation.
Both exhibitions will be on view during Halsey After Hours on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. The happy hour event invites guests to enjoy light bites (“’tinis and wienies”), drinks and music from DJ DollaMenu while mingling and taking in the concurrent solo shows.
Admission is free for Halsey Institute members. A $10 donation is suggested for nonmembers.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Thursdays. The galleries are closed Sundays. Admission is free and open to the public.
Free guided group tours are available through the Halsey Institute’s Looking to See program. For tour inquiries, email halseyTOURS@charleston.edu
