The Harbor Entrepreneur Center will bring together entrepreneurship, live music and Charleston's business community next Wednesday, Sept. 23, for Harbor House Party Vol. II at the Music Farm in downtown Charleston.
Hosted by The Harbor Entrepreneur Center Residents Council, the one-night fundraiser will feature a founder roundtable with leaders and entrepreneurs from PrizePicks, 8AM Golf and Futurebirds; a marketplace showcasing local startups and small businesses; and a live performance by members of the Athens-based rock band Futurebirds.
Proceeds from the event will support The Harbor Entrepreneur Center's year-round programming, accelerator cohorts and community resources dedicated to helping entrepreneurs launch, grow and sustain businesses in the Lowcountry.
The evening's founder roundtable will offer a candid conversation about building companies, navigating growth and creating opportunities around new ideas. Participants include:
- Adam Wexler, founder of EightState Studios and PrizePicks, one of North America's largest daily fantasy sports operators.
- Larry Place, chief operating officer of 8AM Golf, the holding company behind brands including GOLF Magazine, Miura and McLaren Golf.
- Mary Welch Fox, influencer, interior designer and TV host.
- Daniel Womack, co-founder and musician with Futurebirds.
- Stephen Scates, founder of Scates Freight and chair of The Harbor Entrepreneur Center Residents Council, who will moderate the conversation and later sit in on drums during the Futurebirds performance.
"Charleston has an incredible community of entrepreneurs who are building companies, creating jobs and taking chances on new ideas," said Scates. "Harbor House Party is about bringing that community together while investing directly in the people and programs helping the next generation of founders succeed. You get a great night of music, a candid conversation with people who have built and scaled businesses, and a chance to support entrepreneurship right here in the Lowcountry."
Harbor House Party Vol. II also serves as a showcase for Charleston's entrepreneurial community, giving Harbor resident companies and other local businesses an opportunity to connect with founders, business leaders, investors and community partners. A special announcement will also be made during the founder roundtable.
