The popular Mermaids & Mateys Event, a weekend full of pirate and mermaid family fun on Folly Beach, is scheduled to return on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th. The weekend will include multiple events that feature food, drinks, arts, crafts, fashion vendors, costume contests, live music, a sand sculpting competition, kids activities, and more.
Here’s a look at the schedule:
Saturday, September 28th - Salty Saturday!: The Mermaids and Mateys Center Street Closure Event
- Location: Center Street, Folly Beach
- Time: 10 am to 4 pm
- Tickets: $10 in advance; $15 at the door (Kids 12 and under are free; Folly residents with valid driver’s licenses are free)
- Costume contest for families and adults (sign up here)
- Live music by local bands
- 70+ Folly art, craft, and fashion vendors
- Dunk tank
- Kids area
Sunday, September 29th - Sand Sculpting Competition
- Location: Tides Hotel, Folly Beach
- Time: 11 am to 2:30 pm
