For the third year, the Charleston Santa experience is returning to downtown Charleston. Explore Charleston and the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry are once again partnering to bring the holiday attraction to families throughout the season.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 28, the Best Friend Train Museum — located between the downtown visitor center and the Children’s Museum — will host the Charleston Santa. Each weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas, children can visit Santa and receive a free commemorative photo.
The event also highlights the historic Best Friend of Charleston train and supports Toys for Tots. The Children’s Museum will operate a holiday pop-up toy store at the train museum, allowing visitors to purchase toys for donation.
The Charleston Santa will be available Nov. 28 (10 a.m.–6 p.m.); Nov. 29–30; Dec. 6–7; Dec. 13–14; and Dec. 20–21 (10 a.m.–4 p.m.).
The event is free, but reservations are required due to limited space. Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support Toys for Tots.
More information and reservations are available at thecharlestonsanta.com.
