The highly-anticipated documentary Banned Together, the first full-length feature documentary exploring the growing issue of book banning in the U.S., will host an exclusive pre-release screening in Charleston on Monday, September 23rd at The Terrace Theater. The film follows three brave Beaufort students as they fight against the ban of 97 books from their school libraries. This screening offers guests the chance to view the documentary before its official release.
Following the screening, there will be a community discussion featuring members of the production team and special guests, delving into the pressing issues of censorship and intellectual freedom.
Banned Together was produced by Atomic Focus Entertainment and directed by a team including Jennifer Wiggin, Kate Way, Tom Wiggin, and Allyson Rice, with Editor Cha Quallis and Composer Kim Bullard.
This is one of over a dozen screenings scheduled across the nation for this documentary. Audiences in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Portland, and Washington, D.C. will also have the opportunity to see the film.
