The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s (CCPRC) nonprofit partner, the Charleston County Parks Foundation, will host an Evening at McLeod on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This fundraising event, held at McLeod Plantation Historic Site, benefits the foundation’s Cultural History Fund.
The event includes a live performance Charleston Symphony, including Awendaw native Charleton Singleton’s Testimony 6, Florence Price’s Adoration 3, and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum 7. Guests can enjoy a showcase of talented local African American artists, and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Carolima's Lowcountry Cuisine.

Evening at McLeod is a fundraiser in support of the Charleston County Parks Foundation's Cultural History Fund, which supports CCPRC’s cultural and historical research, preservation, interpretation and education. The fund is currently focusing on cultural and historical education opportunities that foster a more equitable society, by expressing a unified narrative of African American history, culture, heritage and art at McLeod Plantation Historic Site.
