Charleston native Darius Rucker will return to the Holy City for a one-night-only event, the Darius Rucker Big Band Gala, at the Charleston Gaillard Center on April 7 at 7:30 p.m.
The gala performance offers fans a rare opportunity to experience Rucker in an intimate concert setting backed by the Robert Lewis Orchestra, conducted by Peter Graves, creating a distinctive evening tailored to the Gaillard stage.
A portion of proceeds will benefit the CMA Foundation’s music education initiatives for Charleston County schools and the Shawn Jenkins MUSC Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship Program.
“These big band shows are some of my favorite nights because it’s the only time I get to perform so many of the standards we all grew up listening to with the backing of such an incredible orchestra,” Rucker said. “It’s all to benefit incredible nonprofit work locally.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. The ticket office opens at 11 a.m. Members receive presale access Thursday, Feb. 19. More information about membership is available on the Gaillard Center’s website.
