Credit One Stadium is transforming into a hub of holiday cheer this December, welcoming the community for a season of celebration, connection and giving back. From the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 5, to the 18th Annual Holiday Classic presented by Safelite, held Dec. 5–7 at LTP Daniel Island, the festive lineup offers something for everyone.
Families can kick off the season at the Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring live holiday music from Shane Griffin Entertainment, a snow show, appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, and festive food and beverages. Guests can also enjoy face painting, caricature art and fairy hair styling while sipping hot chocolate and holiday cocktails. The free event is open to the public, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the tree lighting set for 7 p.m.
Adding to the festivities, the Delancey Street Foundation will once again operate a Christmas tree lot in the stadium parking area, offering fresh trees for sale. Proceeds support the foundation’s mission to provide meaningful work and training opportunities for individuals rebuilding their lives through community-based programs.
“The holidays are such a special time for us at Credit One Stadium,” said Chris Meany, COO of Credit One Stadium. “These events bring together families, friends and neighbors to celebrate the season while supporting organizations doing incredible work in our community. Whether you’re here for the Tree Lighting or to cheer on players at the Holiday Classic, it’s all about sharing joy and giving back.”
Just across the campus, the 18th Annual Holiday Classic combines the spirit of competition with the power of community. The three-day tennis and pickleball tournament welcomes players and spectators for a weekend of doubles play, camaraderie and philanthropy, all to benefit the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
Participants can enjoy a Friday night player dinner and receive a custom player gift. Attendees are encouraged to bring items from the MUSC Child Life Wish List, including games, toys and activity kits that bring comfort to children receiving care during the holidays.
“From our on-court events to family-friendly festivities, our goal is to create experiences that bring people together,” Meany added. “It’s about celebrating the season, but also about community impact, and that’s what makes these traditions so meaningful.”
Guests attending either event are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift from the MUSC Child Life Wish List to help brighten the holidays for children at the hospital.
