Charleston-based author, speaker, and youth advocate ReZsaun V. Lewis has announced the release of his new book, The A–Z Guide to Becoming HIM: Your Guide to Character, Confidence & Manhood. The official launch event will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 at The Ripple Fund in downtown Charleston from 12–2 p.m., featuring a live reading, community panel, and book signing.
In this 26-chapter guide, Lewis distills lessons from more than a decade of mentoring hundreds of young men through his work as executive director of Lowcountry Youth Services, a nonprofit that empowers youth across the Lowcountry through programs such as the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club. Each chapter focuses on a single core value—one for every letter of the alphabet—illustrating how integrity, discipline, and self-awareness build the foundation for true manhood.
“This book was inspired by my desire to give my sons, and every young man I’ve mentored, a framework for who they can become,” Lewis said. “It’s about developing the kind of character that withstands life’s challenges and leads with purpose.”
A former educator, community organizer, and award-winning mentor, Lewis has spent years shaping the next generation of leaders in South Carolina. Under his direction, Lowcountry Youth Services has grown from serving 60 students annually to impacting more than 450 youth each year through mentorship, service, and leadership development. His work has earned multiple honors, including the Drum Major for Justice Award from Royal Missionary Baptist Church for his commitment to equality, access, and service.
