Colour of Music Festival Inc., the country’s largest Black classical music organization headquartered in Charleston, will return to the North Charleston Arts Fest on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 7 p.m. for a free performance.
The event will feature the Colour of Music Festival Octet at the Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel on the former Charleston Naval Base, located at 1096 Navy Way in North Charleston.
“We are excited to host the Colour of Music Ensemble at the North Charleston Arts Fest for the fourth consecutive year," Kyle Lahm, North Charleston Cultural Arts Director said. "The Arts Fest is our department’s premier arts gathering, which makes it the perfect opportunity to feature chamber music by the talented national and international artists performing with the Colour of Music Festival."
Free and open to the public. Online registration required as space is limited.
Returning to North Charleston after its debut at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in February, this free performance presented by the City of North Charleston will showcase the Color of Music Festival Octet performing Felix Mendelssohn’s String Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20, along with other classical gems spanning the evolution of early classical music.
"Spring performances at the Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel have been one of the highlights of the Festival's offerings," said Lee Pringle, Colour of Music Festival Founder and Artistic Director. "We are so happy to present the Colour of Music Festival Octet in such a historic setting where audiences have grown in size and anticipation over the past four years."
