Hed Hi Studio is turning up the volume this season with Club Paradise East, a multi-day creative takeover bringing Pacific energy to downtown Charleston. For one immersive weekend (March 19 - 22), four celebrated artists — Andy Davis, Jeff Canham, Nora Vasconcellos, and Jon Wegener — trade West Coast for East, transforming 654 King St into a collision of art, surf, skate and community. Beyond a traditional exhibition, this is an experience.
The takeover features a gallery show and opening party, three exterior murals installed live onsite, a ticketed Paipo surfboard-shaping clinic, and a couple of TBA surprises. From hand-shaped boards to large-scale walls, from illustration to film, Club Paradise East celebrates craft, culture, and the rhythm of making.
Rooted in surf heritage but reaching far beyond it, the project creates a real-time exchange between coasts — blending California’s DIY, sun-faded creative spirit with Charleston’s growing arts community.
