The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is now seeking visual artists for its Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program for 2026. The 2025 quarterly based program has been revised to a project-based initiative that consists of 2-week to 6-week long sessions. Visual artists will be selected to utilize the AIR Studio located within the Park Circle Community Building (PCCB) to start, continue, or complete a project or series. The AIR Studio at PCCB is a 270 sq.ft. space where artists can work freely while sharing their art and artistic practice with the community.
Visual artists age 25+ based in Charleston, Dorchester, or Berkeley County, working in any medium that can be managed safely in the studio, and that would benefit from creating work in a community-centered space are welcome to apply. The application may be accessed at https://
There is no fee to apply. In addition to answering a series of questions and agreeing to terms/conditions, artists will be asked to upload a minimum of five quality images of their work and/or proposed project along with a current CV. Artists in need of assistance with the application process may contact the Cultural Arts Department to schedule a one-on-one meeting, which can be conducted over the phone or in person.
