The City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs presents the 2025 MOJA Juried Art Exhibition, on view at City Gallery from Nov. 14 through Feb. 2, 2026, and at the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture now through Jan. 2, 2026. The City Gallery exhibition was delayed due to ongoing construction and maintenance. The gallery will reopen Nov. 14 with an opening reception from 5–7 p.m., free and open to the public.
This annual juried exhibition highlights the recent work of artists across South Carolina, as well as those based in communities near the Gullah Geechee Heritage Corridor in Georgia and North Carolina. The exhibition features painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and photography. Prize-winning works are displayed alongside a limited selection of pieces the jurors identify as meriting exhibition.
This year’s exhibition was juried by staff of the Avery Research Center: Daron Calhoun II, facilities, outreach, and public programming coordinator and Race and Social Justice Initiative coordinator; and Tey Sanders, outreach and public program coordinator.
