The City of Charleston invites residents and visitors to help ring in the holiday season at this year’s Light the Lake, a festive evening featuring the official Colonial Lake tree lighting, a countdown led by Mayor William Cogswell, and more. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025.
Attendees can enjoy live entertainment on the main stage, including Shortwave Kitsch performing “Letters to Santa” and a special Gullah rendition of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas by Fouché Sheppard.
Families will also find a dedicated children’s area with activities such as a scavenger hunt, candy cane hunt, and snowball fight zone, along with photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
