Three blocks of upper King Street north of Ann will again be transformed into a pedestrian-only celebration of food, beverage and fun on Thursday, March 7th, from 6 pm to 8 pm, for the second iteration of Wine + Food Street Fest.
This free event will feature a DJ, for-purchase food and beverages, and family-friendly entertainment throughout. Neighborhood businesses are participating, and Charleston-licensed food, beverage, or arts/crafts vendors will be on hand to sell their wares. In addition, organizers expect to welcome the renowned Burke High School marching band, aerialists, a marshmallow-roasting site, and more.
As DJ Illadell and a marching band play, guests can journey into the Black Expo’s Black Wine and Spirits Tasting Garden, which will highlight for-sale alcoholic beverage offerings. This first-time partnership offers a ticketed tasting experience where guests can taste black owned brands. This partnership will support local chefs at the Taste of Black Charleston. Tickets are available at https://eventpasshero.com/
Also new this year: the presence of Kulture City, a non-profit devoted to helping individuals with sensory needs enjoy live events (thanks to special kits provided on site).
“We strive to make our local Festival truly accessible and inclusive for our community,” said Alyssa Maute Smith, Executive Director. “Response to Street Fest last year was so positive that we’re thrilled to bring it back, bigger and better than ever.”
