He also recently released the official music video for his Grammy- and CMA-winning song “White Horse,” starring actor Josh Brolin.
Stapleton celebrated the 10-year anniversary of his debut album, Traveller, last year. Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb, the album won Best Country Album at the 58th Grammy Awards and Album of the Year honors from both the CMAs and ACMs. It became the best-selling country album of the 2010s and the first country album to spend more than 500 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide and is certified seven-times platinum in the U.S.
Stapleton has since released four additional studio albums, including 2023’s Higher, produced by Dave Cobb, Morgane Stapleton and Chris Stapleton. The album earned praise from Billboard, Esquire, Vulture and Rolling Stone and appeared on numerous year-end “best of” lists.
In the past year, Stapleton has released several new songs, including “Heart Letting Go” from Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, “A Song to Sing” with Miranda Lambert and “Bad as I Used to Be” from F1: The Album.
Career highlights also include performing the national anthem at Super Bowl LVII, three appearances on Saturday Night Live, sold-out tours worldwide and collaborations with artists including Adele, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, George Strait and others.
In addition to their music careers, Stapleton and his wife, Morgane, founded the Outlaw State of Kind charitable fund. In 2024, Stapleton also launched Traveller Whiskey in partnership with Buffalo Trace Distillery Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. The whiskey became the most awarded super-premium whiskey of the year and was named the first official whiskey of Major League Baseball.
