Charleston County Parks will host the Chili Trail Run at Laurel Hill County Park on Saturday, Nov. 1.
This year’s race will include a 5K run or walk, a 10K run, and a Kids Dash. Registration is open through Oct. 29 at CharlestonCountyParks.com. On-site registration will not be available.
The 5K and 10K begin at 9 a.m., followed by the Kids Dash (ages 3–7) at 9:45 a.m. Participants can enjoy unpaved trails lined with moss-draped oaks and peaceful views. After crossing the finish line, runners and walkers are invited to enjoy hot chili and an awards ceremony.
“The Chili Trail Run presents one of the most diverse courses in the Lowcountry,” said Allison Foster, Charleston County Parks’ fitness and wellness manager. “It’s difficult to take in all that Laurel Hill offers, much less describe the immense beauty of the park with words. It’s a must-see.”
Registration fees
Packet pickup will take place on race day from 8–8:45 a.m. Bibs are required. The Kids Dash includes a finisher medal, and a parent or guardian must be present.
The course features a natural, unimproved surface ranging from hard-packed trails with roots to grass. The loop course includes occasional uneven terrain. Strollers are not recommended, and pets are not permitted. The race is open to all levels, including beginners.
No accessible parking is available, but an accessible portable restroom will be on site. Water stations will be available, and participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles to support Charleston County Parks’ goal of hosting cup-less races.
The Chili Trail Run is the final race of the three-part 5K Trail Run/Walk Series hosted by Charleston County Parks.
Laurel Hill County Park is located between Highway 17 North and Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant. Attendees must enter through the special event entrance at 1400 Highway 41. Access through Park West will not be permitted.
