Follow the Yellow Brick Road as Charleston Stage continues its 49th Season with one of the world's most beloved musicals, The Wizard of Oz, playing August 26 through September 27, 2026, at the Historic Dock Street Theatre.
Based on L. Frank Baum's timeless novel and the treasured MGM motion picture, The Wizard of Oz has captivated generations with its unforgettable characters, iconic songs, dazzling adventure, and heartwarming message that there's no place like home.
When a Kansas farm girl named Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz, she embarks on an unforgettable journey to find the mysterious Wizard who can help her return home. Along the way, she befriends a Scarecrow searching for a brain, a Tin Man longing for a heart, and a Cowardly Lion hoping to find courage. Together, they travel the Yellow Brick Road while discovering that the qualities they seek have been within them all along.
Filled with spectacular scenery, colorful costumes, breathtaking choreography, and cherished songs including "Over the Rainbow," "We're Off to See the Wizard," "If I Only Had a Brain," and many more, Charleston Stage's production promises a magical theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
