Charleston Stage is proud to announce the upcoming production of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away, running from April 8 through May 3, 2026, at the Historic Dock Street Theatre. This soaring, true-life musical tells the remarkable story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them with open arms in the wake of September 11, 2001.
Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Come From Away takes audiences into the heart of Gander, Newfoundland, a town whose population nearly doubled overnight when 38 planes were diverted to its airport. As the world stood still, the residents of Gander provided food, shelter, and hope to "the plane people" (as they called them), transforming fear and cultural differences into unbreakable bonds and lifelong friendships.

The production features a powerhouse ensemble cast who portray both the Gander residents and the stranded passengers. With a folk-rock score that captures the spirit of the North Atlantic, the show moves at a breathtaking pace, reminding audiences that even in the face of tragedy, the capacity for compassion knows no borders.
