This season is packed with timeless classics, thrilling mysteries, heartwarming holiday traditions, laugh-out-loud comedies, and inspiring works that will transport audiences and create unforgettable theatrical experiences.
2025-26 MainStage Productions
Charleston Stage is bringing you a season filled with beloved favorites and bold, dynamic storytelling on the Dock Street Theatre stage:
- The Sound of Music (Sept. 3 - 28, 2025) – One of the most beloved musicals of all time kicks off our season! Get ready for a breathtaking journey through the hills of Austria with the von Trapp family in this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic.
- Dial M for Murder (Oct. 15 - Nov. 2, 2025) – A gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller filled with deception, intrigue, and a perfectly planned crime—until everything goes horribly wrong. This Hitchcockian mystery will have you guessing until the final moment.
- A Christmas Carol (Nov. 29 - Dec. 21, 2025) – A treasured Charleston holiday tradition returns! Join Scrooge, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and the entire Cratchit family as we bring this magical, heartwarming production back to life for the holiday season.
- Sense and Sensibility (Jan. 21 - Feb. 8, 2026) – Jane Austen’s timeless tale of love, heartbreak, and resilience comes to the stage in a fresh, fast-paced adaptation. Witty, romantic, and beautifully crafted—this one is not to be missed.
- The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Feb. 25 - Mar. 15, 2026) – A hilarious, high-energy musical comedy that follows six quirky middle schoolers competing for spelling glory—complete with audience participation!
- Come From Away (Apr. 8 - May 3, 2026) – Charleston Stage will close out the season with this remarkable, moving Broadway hit that tells the true story of the small town that welcomed thousands of stranded passengers on 9/11. With an incredible, uplifting score and a story of humanity at its best, this will be a show to remember.
Family Series Productions
For their youngest (and young-at-heart!) theatregoers, Charleston Stage is bringing two wildly fun stories to life on stage!
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid (July 19, 20, 26 & 27, 2025) – Greg Heffley’s middle school misadventures, laugh-out-loud moments, and relatable struggles come to life in this brand-new musical adaptation based on the bestselling books.
- Dragons Love Tacos (Mar. 7 & 14, 2026) – Who knew dragons love tacos? A little spice makes everything nice—except when it doesn’t! This wildly funny adventure will have kids (and parents!) laughing, dancing, and craving tacos.
