Charleston Literary Festival is thrilled to announce new opportunities to attend sold-out and waitlisted programming this year.
In response to the record demand for tickets for its 10th Festival that went on sale on September 10, the Festival is embracing its audience’s enthusiasm and providing creative ways for the public to participate in Festival programming, including sessions with authors such as Tayari Jones, Virginia Evans and Lily King, and Belle Burden.
First, a limited number of overflow tickets will allow attendees to watch a live-steam of the Tayari Jones, Virginia Evans, and Lily King events at the French Huguenot Church located directly across Church Street from the main venue, the Dock Street Theatre. Belle Burden’s live-stream will take place in the Queen Street Playhouse, also steps away from the Dock Street Theatre. Tickets to the overflow sessions will cost $20 per session. Immediately afterward the live-stream, attendees can proceed to Dock Street Theatre to meet the authors and purchase books for signing. (NOTE: The Barbara Kingsolver event on Nov. 12 will not have a book signing. Her event can still be live-streamed at home.)
The second opportunity will allow book lovers to host virtual “watch parties” at home. Sold-out sessions will be available via live-stream online for $10. (NOTE: The Salman Rushdie event will not be available for live-streaming due to licensing.)
At-home streaming tickets are currently on sale for: David Armitage, Belle Burden, Hernan Diaz, Virginia Evans & Lily King, Jenna Bush Hager & Lucy Tan, Tayari Jones, Barbara Kingsolver, Daniel Mendelsohn, Catherine Ostler, Jayne Anne Phillips & Susan Orlean, Steven Pinker, Eric Ripert & Nigel Parry, Salman Rushdie & Rachel Eliza Griffiths, Patrick Ryan, and Curtis Sittenfeld. Tickets can be purchased here.
This year, Charleston Literary Festival will welcome more than 80 world-class authors to the Lowcountry for a stellar literary program. While 16 live events have sold out, there are still 36 incredible events with available tickets. For tickets and more information, visit Charleston Literary Festival.
