In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Charleston Jazz will present two special events that celebrate Latin jazz music. These events will showcase exceptional talent and offer unique experiences for music and culinary enthusiasts alike.

Cuban Eats & Latin Beats: A Culinary and Musical Celebration
Kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a fusion of food and music at “Cuban Eats & Latin Beats,” a culinary experience featuring live Latin jazz. This event will take place at The Establishment on September 11th at 6 pm.
Guests can enjoy a Latin-inspired, 3-course menu created by Executive Chef Elliott Howells, a signature cocktail created by Barman Ryan Wise, a unique collection of Hispanic wines, and an array of hors d’oeuvres.
Dinner will be paired with live performances by local legends Gino Castillo, Abdiel Iriarte, and Robert Lewis.
Cha-Cha Charleston: A Charleston Jazz Orchestra Concert
On September 14th, the Charleston Jazz Orchestra will take the stage at the Charleston Music Hall for an concert featuring two Latin jazz luminaries: Gino Castillo and Cuban superstar Yusa. Castillo, a revered Latin jazz percussionist born in Ecuador and trained in Cuba, has made a triumphant return to the Charleston jazz scene after a courageous battle with leukemia (view story). Yusa, a multi-talented Cuban musician known for her mastery of the Cuban Tres and her impactful songwriting, will also grace the stage.
