Fairoozan Abdullah's “Fall Owl”
October finally brings a change of seasons with fall colors and a return to cooler days. Come in and enjoy the fall inspired collection of the artisans in the month of October at Charleston Crafts Gallery, 140 East Bay, Suite D, in downtown Charleston. Work by ten of our artist members featuring fall colors in multiple arts and fine crafts mediums will be in the spotlight this month. Come and meet the gallery’s artists who are available to meet on the evening of the first Friday art walk, October 4, from 5 to 8 PM. Stop by and welcome the Fall season!
Marty Biernbaum created two of her signature larger ceramic sculptural works for this show. Come see her Lava Glaze sculpture in a new vibrant red.
Selma Andrews a jewelry artist who works in Polymer Clay, creates necklaces with intricate faces and images of leaves and flowers. These have to be seen to be believed!
Lynn Gettlefinger layers intricate patterns of fabric and other fibers creating delightful quilts. This month, her quilt “Autumn by the Stream” invokes a cooler fall mood.
Susan Livingston stitches intricate one-of a kind fabric collages that take the viewer to walks in the woods in the fall. Her works often include found objects, such as leaves and feathers.
Regina Semko creates decorative origami using a wide range of papers. For this show, she has created ornaments for fall.
Gini Steele is a knitter who creates whimsical and original designed knit pieces including special buttons, or added felted elements. Gini is an intuitive knitter who uses many stitches in her designs; “breaking all the rules in knitting”.

Fairoozan Abdullah is an artist who works in paper quilling, crafting works of art which are stunning in their originality. Come see her “Fall Owl” in this month’s show.
Laurie Prophater is a Polymer Clay jewelry artist whose work has been featured in Belle Armoire Magazine. This month, we are featuring her bracelets, including some that feature maps of Charleston from the 1870’s.
Iryna Toney is a fiber artist who specializes in crochet. Crochet is a fiber art form that has never been produced by machine. She makes hand crafted sweaters, wraps, and hats with interesting finishing touches.
Jennifer York, 2024 Lowcountry Artist of the Year, also creates unique art to wear, with her hand dyed silk tunics and sweaters.
While these members are in the spotlight, the work of all the Gallery’s members are also on display and available for purchase, including jewelry, wood puzzles, encaustic paintings, mixed media collages, fiber art, apparel and accessories, as well as functional and decorative objects in wood, ceramic and glass.
Charleston’s destination for Fine Craft since 1989, the gallery is located at 140 D East Bay Street, in the heart of the French Quarter, on “Gallery Row”.
