After a successful inaugural year, Charleston County Parks is bringing back two dancing events for seniors this February! The second annual Senior Sneaker Dances will be held at Lincoln Recreation Center in McClellanville on Saturday, Feb. 21 and at Schroder Recreation Center in Hollywood on Saturday, Feb. 28.
From 4 – 6 p.m. at each event, seniors are invited to enjoy a night of music from a DJ, along with lots of dancing and delicious refreshments. Participants are asked to wear their favorite sneakers with their finest formal wear for a unique and fun experience.
Music will be provided by DJ Darin McNeal at the Lincoln event on Feb. 21, and by DJ Jill Szukics at the Schroder dance on Feb. 28. Complimentary refreshments at each event will include sandwiches, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Admission to both events is free. As the event takes place on a gym floor, hard-soled shoes and heels are not permitted. Outside food and drinks are not allowed.
