Get ready to dance! Charleston County Parks is bringing back its Inclusive Silent Disco in February. This music event for people with disabilities and their families and friends will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Cypress Hall within North Charleston Wannamaker County Park.
The Silent Disco is a unique party experience where all guests wear wireless glowing headphones, provided free of charge with event admission. Two live DJs will play a variety of music, and attendees will have the opportunity to switch between the two genres of music in their headphones. Headphones will be provided by QuietKingz; participants will not be able to bring their own headphones. Refreshments including pizza, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will also be served.
This event is specifically offered for people with disabilities, ages 4 and up, and their families and friends. Chaperones are free and are required for ages 15 and under. Admission is $4 per participant in advance and $5 on site. Early registration can be made by calling 843-795-4386.
Accessible parking spots on gravel are available at Cypress Hall, as well as accessible restrooms. An UbiDuo deaf and hard-of-hearing communication device will be available. KultureCity sensory bags may be checked out at the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
