Charleston author, Rob Liotti, has released his first book of 2026 with a consumer advisory for the national horse industry entitled, The Consumer Guide to Horse Ownership and Purchase published by Equine Consumer Limited with a foreword written by noted veterinary expert, Zack Mills, DVM. The consumer advisory comes on the heels of Liotti’s debut fiction novel, Zero Turn, a psychological thriller that follows Vince Minard, a successful businessman who leads a double life as a serial killer and exacts revenge on an unsuspecting rural North Carolina town while being pursued by an ex-Chicago detective.
“I actually wrote a manuscript version of the book back in 1996 that was used in an adult education college class. After writing Zero Turn, I came across the manuscript again and realized that it was still relevant. Additionally, my goddaughter, Giovanna Fusco, is in her second year of veterinary medicine training at Mississippi State University, and I felt it to be a wonderful tribute to her - something she could use to educate her clients in the future. The dedication required to even be accepted into a veterinary med program is incredible, and she is excelling,” Liotti stated.
He continues. “At the time, I had a Polish Arabian show horse named, Rhythm King. He was an absolutely beautiful horse and the grandson of Bask - whose statue is displayed at the Kentucky Horse Park. I wrote a number of magazine articles published in national trade magazines like Horseplay and Horse Illustrated, but at the time, there wasn’t really a comprehensive work that did a deep dive into horse purchase and ownership at the consumer level. Fast forward to 2026. I sat down, reworked the manuscript, and brought everything up to date. With that, Dr. Mills’ foreword really sets the reader up to delve into the commitment of ownership.”
