M. Dumas and Sons today announced the return of its beloved Puppies in the Window event during this year’s Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE). This tradition, which began in the 1980s as a way to support the festival, has become an adored community event that connects rescue pups with loving homes.
This year, the storefront windows of Dumas’ historic downtown location will feature 10-20 playful pups seeking their forever home from Cindy Lou’s Sanctuary on Friday, Feb. 14, and from Friends of Berkeley Animal Center on Saturday, Feb. 15. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Those not able to adopt but still interested in supporting the cause can stop by the puppy photo and kissing booth on Saturday, Feb. 15, to “smooch a pooch” for a donation. Tickets for a 50/50 raffle will also be sold to raise funds for Berkeley Animal Center, and as a part of the center’s “Have a Heart, Save a Heart” initiative, personalized hearts will be available for purchase for $5, with proceeds benefiting heartworm treatment.
All puppies at the event will be available for adoption, with a 100% adoption rate in years past. After enjoying some puppy playtime, guests are encouraged to explore the store to check out Dumas’ collection of renowned brands from brands Duckhead, Barbour, Fahe
