MURRELLS INLET, S.C. – Brookgreen Gardens, home to the country's largest and most significant collection of American Figurative Sculpture, has announced the return of The National Sculpture Society’s 92nd Annual Awards Exhibition, from Aug. 2 to Oct. 26, 2025, in the Rosen Galleries. Recognized as the foremost annual exhibition of American figurative sculpture, the show will feature the finest contemporary works by American masters alongside rising stars, with pieces handpicked by the National Sculpture Society (NSS), the country’s first organization of professional sculptors.
“We are honored to host this distinguished awards exhibition once again, which reflects the ever-evolving beauty of figurative sculpture,” says Page Kiniry, president and CEO of Brookgreen Gardens. “Brookgreen’s deep-rooted connection with the National Sculpture Society, dating back to our founders, the Huntingtons, who were members, makes this exhibition especially meaningful. We are excited for guests to experience the talents of today’s leading sculptors through this year’s dynamic display.”
The 41 works in this annual awards exhibition were selected from 326 entries by a jury including Benjamin Phillips, sculptor and 2024 National Sculpture Society Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant recipient, and Paul Michael, Lyme Art Association curator and gallery director. The exhibition includes bronze, marble, ceramic, wood and cardboard sculptures of wildlife, natural elements, portraits, and more. Seventeen awards will be presented by the NSS, along with the People’s Choice Award determined by votes from visitors to Brookgreen, during the awards ceremony at the exhibition’s conclusion on Oct. 26. Winners will also have their work displayed in the 92nd Annual Award Winners Exhibition at the National Sculpture Society Gallery in New York City, from Nov. 17, 2025, to Jan. 23, 2026.
