Brookgreen Gardens will celebrate Constitution Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, with a full day of programming as part of the America 250 celebration.
The afternoon will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a parade down Oak Allée featuring a color guard, fife and drum, and George and Martha Washington. The parade will end at the Constitution Oak, which was already standing when the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
South Carolina chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution will also host educational activities and refreshments near the tree, followed by a bell-ringing ceremony at 4 p.m.
The program is included with garden admission.
